Meet the Mariachi Oro de ENHS

Mariachi Oro de ENHS is the highly competitive and nationally recognized varsity mariachi program of Edinburg North High School. Led by director and ENHS alumnus Abel Acuña, the ensemble has distinguished itself as one of the elite high school mariachi teams in Texas's demanding competition circuit. The program gained international fame as the subject of the acclaimed 2023 Netflix documentary, "Going Varsity in Mariachi," which captures the group's dedication, cultural pride, and rigorous pursuit of state championships under Acuña’s passionate guidance.

Join me as I return to my alma mater, Edinburg North High School, for a special one-night-only performance with Jose Hernandez. Featuring Mariachi Oro de ENHS and the ENHS Choir, this is the first stop on my international tour.

We will be celebrating the works of legendary composers like Mozart, Schubert, and Stephen Sondheim with Christmas classics we know and love like "The Christmas Waltz" and "My Favourite Things" and a special rendition of "I'll Be Home For Christmas".
